AI Engineering Solutions for Talent Acquisition: Embedded Engineer Candidate Portal with Node.js and React
Introduction: The Challenge of Technical Embedded Screening
Recruiting embedded engineers requires a technical-first evaluation: automated MCQs, task selection, starter-kit downloads, and tracked submissions. Existing ATS workflows were insufficient, necessitating a custom digital platform to automate screening and submission workflows for our specialized Embedded AI India team.
Solution Overview: Node.js + React Hiring Platform
EurthTech built an end-to-end portal using a Node.js/Express backend and a React front-end with PostgreSQL storage. The platform automates candidate screening, offering a timed MCQ engine, task selection with starter-kit downloads, and a secure artifact submission workflow. This system is a core AI engineering solution designed to increase the quality of hire while reducing manual overhead.
Technical Implementation: CI Sandboxing and Embedded Systems Development
Key features include: server-side grading for randomized MCQs, versioned starter kits stored in S3-compatible storage, and a CI runner that executes static checks and unit tests in containers upon code submission. Although constrained by MCU dependencies, the platform provided guidance for running unit tests via provided harnesses. The system includes a reviewer interface with automated scores and logs, providing transparency and efficiency in the embedded systems development hiring process.

Results & Impact: Operational Efficiency and Quality of Hire

The portal significantly reduced manual screening time by ~60% and increased the quality of hire by ensuring early-stage filtering for practical skills. Automated scoring removed subjective filtering, allowing interviewers to focus on architecture and cultural fit. This solution produced a repeatable, measurable recruitment channel, ready for Dockerized deployment on Kubernetes for scaling.
Scalability & GIS Context: Designed with CSRF protections and PII safeguards, the system is secure and auditable. While focused on hiring, the principles of role-based access, data audit trails, and process automation are key components of any large-scale enterprise system, including those developed by a GIS consulting company or used in a smart city solutions provider platform. The framework is reusable for skill-based certifications and take-home assignments.
